Advance Pro has a history of working on some of Manitoba’s largest sound reinforcement projects in the entertainment and hospitality industry. Continuing this tradition, Advance Pro has been awarded the Audio contract for Manitoba’s entertainment jewel – the MTS Centre. Working with specification criteria prepared by WJHW of Dallas, Texas - Advance Pro and JBL America/SoundCraft Canada have designed a state of the art sound system for the new arena. This new system will ensure unbelievable sound quality under many different configurations for the numerous different events touring through our city.

JBL AE Series speakers were chosen because of their wide variety of fixed installation applications. These speakers are featured in many of today’s major sports and entertainment venues such as America Airlines Center – Dallas, Molson Center – Montreal, Pro Player Stadium – Miami, and the Sydney Opera House – in Sydney, Australia.

Because of the many diverse functions the MTS Center will hold, we can load multiple configurations and, at the press of a button, reconfigure the entire system to a customized preset.

To control this state of the art sound system, BSS Digital Signal Processors (DSP) will be used. These DSP units set sound level, equalization, time correction, and signal protection from a single computer interface. Advantages of this system will allow multiple configurations to be used for multiple system uses. If hockey were the only event we had to be concerned about this would not be an issue. Because of the many diverse functions the MTS Center will hold, we can load multiple configurations and, at the press of a button, reconfigure the entire system to a customized preset.

This will allow seating configurations from full capacity arena operation, concert bowl seating, lower bowl only seating, down to small speaking engagements to sound like each individual event has had its own special sound system designed specifically for it.
